The backbone of the Palace on Wheels, spread across 13 coaches named after princely Rajasthan cities — Alwar, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Bundi, Udaipur, Dholpur, Dungarpur, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, Kota, and Sirohi — for a total of 39 Deluxe cabins onboard.

Each 131 sq. ft. cabin is furnished with twin sharing beds, a large window positioned right beside the bed for scenic views, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Interiors lean into traditional Rajasthani décor, giving every cabin the feel of a small royal chamber rather than a standard train compartment.

One coach, named Bharatpur, is set aside entirely for the Super Deluxe category — just 3 cabins in total, making this one of the more exclusive ways to book a Deluxe-sized cabin on the train.

The footprint and layout match the Deluxe cabins at 131 sq. ft. with twin sharing beds and an en-suite shower bathroom, but Super Deluxe guests also receive a private car and dedicated guide for excursions, along with a one-time complimentary 30-minute spa session for a couple during the journey.

Housed in its own coach, Jhalawar, the Suite Cabin category holds only 2 cabins on the entire train — each a spacious 180 sq. ft. with a queen-size bed, built for guests who want noticeably more room and privacy than the standard Deluxe cabin.

A large panoramic window sits beside the bed for uninterrupted views of the changing Rajasthan landscape, alongside elegant Rajasthani interiors, fine furniture, and a modern en-suite shower bathroom.

The single most exclusive cabin on the Palace on Wheels — one Presidential Suite, in its own dedicated coach, spanning 240 sq. ft. of private space designed for guests who want the fullest expression of the train's royal character.

The ceiling is finished in handcrafted Thikri work — the same traditional Rajasthani mirror-inlay art used in the Maharani dining car — set above Vietnam marble flooring. A private in-cabin lounge area with two handcrafted armchairs sits beside a wide window, alongside a king-size bed, an LED TV, and an en-suite bathroom with a jacuzzi and separate shower.
